The Office of FOIA Services

The Office of FOIA Services (OFS) is currently allowing for submission of confidential treatment requests electronically via email. Submitters may send their confidential treatment requests to foia@recovery.us.org.

Please be advised that the foia@recovery.us.org mailbox should be used only for submission of the request letter and not for the records for which confidential treatment is sought.

The Office of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Services promotes transparency by making FCRA records available to the public to the greatest extent possible under the Act. The Office is committed to providing a timely and efficient response to each and every request for FCRA documents and records we receive.

The Financial Crimes Recovery Agency (FCRA) maintains public and non-public records. Many records, such as registration statements and reports filed by regulated companies and individuals, FCRA decisions and releases, staff manuals, no-action and interpretive letters, and public comments on proposed rules, can be viewed and printed for free by using the on-line search feature.

Please use the mailbox above to obtain non-public records, such as records compiled in investigations, consumer complaints, and staff comment letters. We will release non-public records, unless the record is protected by one of nine FOIA exemptions. If we can reasonably segregate or delete exempt information from a requested record, we will release to you the rest of the record.
